Back Massage - How to Give a Relaxing Back Massage
- Effleurage
- Knuckling (light to medium)

- Circular movement under Cox's (lower part of the spine) (medium to heavy pressure)
- Track the hip bone by using the palm of hands
- Thumbing (not across the spine)
- Palm of hands (as above) (medium)
- Ringing movement (whole hand*one side) (enough oil)
- Palm of the hands (lower part of back * start at the top and the squeeze down
- moving only up to the middle part of the back
- Circular movement (same area) (thumbs)
- move all the way to the top of the back and the bottom of the neck (each thumb* specific muscle* don't cross the spine) (medium)
- Friction movements (around the shoulder area and the neck) (medium to light) hand support hand - Circular movements around shoulder, the another side.
- Friction movement (enough oil* don't burn the skin) (quickly move up*down all over the upper back)
- Using the front of knuckles moving from the back up towards the shoulders (medium)
- Needling whole area (really pushing to the muscle) (like coin movement)
- Using Circular movement under tripezius (Move to the shoulder and neck muscle) (Both hands put underneath the shoulder and make thumbs circular start from outside the shoulder towards the upper part of the neck
- Knuckling off the neck and shoulder muscle
- Massaging and needling the trapezius and neck muscle start on the outside of the shoulder and move all the way towards to make
- Needing (medium to light) (like massage trapezius muscle) then moving to the neck muscle all the way to the bottom of the head. Start on the outside of the shoulder and then move towards the neck.
- Small coin movement (not spreading the handout) (start on top of the) small circle with fingertips & move up towards the neck
- Squeeze the neck * one hand to one side and the fingers to master the side of the neck (circular movements) (sensitive area)
- Push with both hands out towards the shoulders. Starting at the top of the neck using palm of hands
- Effleurage movement.
