hòai niệm giáng sinh...

‪#‎TBT‬....Christmas 1979. I am very excited, in this photo, about the gold chain necklace that my cousin has just given me. My recollection is that I walked around all day, holding up the chain in my thumbs like this, while framing my face like this. I can't remember why it was so important for me to hold this pose, but it was very important at the time...
(There is nothing in life quite as good as the experience of getting the very best present you could possibly get when you are 10 years old.)

Avital Davidi After I moved from Michigan to Florida after college, I met up with my family in Arkansas after over a year of being apart. At the airport, while saying goodbye, one of my little brothers pretended to go to the bathroom, but actually went to the gift shop to buy me a little stuffed piggy. It's one of my most cherished possessions and I've kept it on my nightstand, in every home, ever since.

Yvonne Nixon-Lowery I felt the same way when my dad and mom took me out to eat at The Spaghetti Warehouse and gave me a gold chain with a gold music note (I played the flute). I had never had yah a beautiful gift. The chain broke long ago (more than 30 years ago) but I still have the gold music note. I remember feeling so special because it felt like a very personal gift with thought put into it.
I'm not big on holidays or sending cards or even muttering the greeting, but I loved everything about that birthday!

Annies Ways Three weeks ago I decided to not wait longer and wait for somebody making a wish come true; I was having for years. (-: With my 34 years I bought myself my first gold chain necklace. Very thin one, but: I just love it. For me this is a symbol for: value yourself, you are worth of spending money on yourself, even if it`s not for traveling. Operation: Self care .....successful (-: Baci. Aniela

Reclaiming Your Future My best present was aged 27 during my breakdown when mum and I stayed at home for Christmas, just us two. We had a morning walk along the coast, a gorgeous roast dinner and snuggled up on the sofa to watch movies. We didn't even exchange gifts and it was still the best Christmas I've ever had.

Barb Parcells Mine was a teddy bear I saw in the window of the hardware store that I passed every day going to and from school. My mom said I was too old but I thought he was the most beautiful thing I'd every seen. I cried when I opened the box. He got me through rough times even as an adult!

Shelley Kline One of my favorite Hanukkah presents ever! A silver trumpet from my Mom and Dad..1979.... And oh those braces were new too! They told me I couldn't play trumpet with braces but that didnt stop me at all. What a wonderful gift to encourage me to practice more...which I certainly did! I was the envy of Westlawn Junior High trumpet section. .braces or no.

Alina Skye When I was 22 I met my ex-bf, even though we're not together anymore, we had 14 years together and the best gift that anyone has ever given me is to not hate holidays. He was the 1st person in my life who ever made holidays feel special, before that I always hated holidays and cried, b/c there wasn't any happy holidays in my family, it always felt incredibly sad... I'll always be grateful to him for changing the way I feel about the world and yes, the holidays.

Kathleen Casper When I was about 7, my grandparents from another state stayed with us for Christmas and it was magical just having them with us. But it got better when on Christmas morning I was feeling a bit disappointed to not have found the plastic horse stable toy I had been hoping for under the tree, but just then my dad and grandpa walked in with this beautiful, hand-crafted wooden horse stable they had spent all week making in the garage after my bedtime each night. I treasured the unique and perfect stable they had put their own work into just for me!

Melissa Weaver Mine was the year we spent Christmas with my Dad's sister and her family which included my sister, my Aunt's two boys and a girl and also my wonderful Uncle Ed. Anyway, My older,by 5 years, cousin, Jana, and I received the exact same plaid winter coats and we LOVED them. They are hideous as we look back on the photos, but the point was I was getting something like my older cousin who was more like a sister to me until they moved away when I was in grade school. Precious memories.

Carol Embleton I was about 10 and I received a hooting Annie outfit, aqua blue and posed around in it for weeks, roller skates were also a hit and I skated for years with those tattered skates. Cadbury selection box was a favourite as the lollies and chocks were all mine to eat, as my brother and sister got their own. I loved being with family all day eating and playing with presents.

Franziska Baumgaertner My most favorite Christmas gift ever, at the age of five or six (I don't remember exactly) was a plastic play typewriter which I loved oh so much. Today I write for a living as a catalog writer and editor, and I started a blog this year, which I'm very proud of.

Dianne Wallyn When I was 4 my brother gave me a pop gun. You pushed a cork in the end then pulled the trigger & the cork popped out... It was the best present! BUT he hoped I'd hate it so he could have it, so spent the day following me around waiting for me to get sick of it... So funny !
