To City

I get on the bus in the morning as usual
After giving the driver 5 notes, I said:
'2.60, please!'
Then take waiting for refunds
I waited and did not get any changes
I looked into the face of the driver and gently said:
'2.60, please!'
The bus driver did not even look at me, just saying:
'To City, 5 dollars'
I was surprised:
'Why? I go every day, 2.60!'
Bus driver:
'To city: 5 dollars'
I patiently repeated:
'2.60, please!'
Bus driver:
'To city, 5 dollars'
I  calmly said:
'2.60, please'
Bus Driver stared at me:
'Where do you go?'
I am in a legato speech:
'I am go  to St.Albans, 2.60'
Bus driver also stressed:
'Yes, to City of St.Albans, zone 2, 5 dollars'
'I left St.Albans and go to every day school in St.Albans VU'
 I got mad.
This time the driver seems to understand the situation and gave back to me $2.40 but in the staccato speech:
'Next time, say Two dollars and Sixty cents!'
I repeated:
'Yes. Two dollars and Sixty cents! Next time!'
But then again I felt angry against myself, angry against my poor English pronunciation that they did not understand.
